Google Practical Project Reflection

This project was a complement to the Google tools project. It measures how often we are using this project and for what purposes and if it useful or not. As student we use a variety of tools to help us with our studies. Each one of Google tools has a different usage that helps you to finish your work on time and achieve better results. In this blog I am going to talk about ten of these tools and rank them according to their helpfulness.

Gmail

Actually, I was the trainer to this tool. I had an account in Gmail before but I didn’t know how useful Gmail can be and find out its great features. Now I am using only Gmail as my primary email. I use filter option to organize my emails to different categories. Also, I use Gspace in Firefox to use the huge space the Gmail provides to store my file in. generally, I found Gmail very useful and it makes you use only Gmail .

Google Chrome

Google Chrome is the fastest web browser that Google provides, with the ability to load fast and search fast. Now I am using only chrome as my default browser. It is very convenient and helps me to save my time and do my work easily. I really like Google chrome with its different colorful theme and for me it is my beloved browserJ

Google Calendar

As we are busy student who have now time or enough space in our brain to remember, we need something that helps us to remind us with our daily deadlines and tasks. After introducing Google calendar I found what I was seeking for. It is the tool that will help me to be more organized person and reminds me with my different task and deadline. I liked Google calendar, it is very useful tool and I will continue using it.

Google Language tool

I use this tool whenever I come across difficult and new vocab or when I am viewing websites in different languages. Google language tools allowed me to use different terms and to enhance my vocabulary in my reports. It is a very useful and I will continue using itJ

Google Desktop

In Google Desktop you can search your computer and the net all from your desktop. Moreover, you can install and add different gadget to your desktop as I did in mine. I added weather, you tube, my calendar, clock and scratch pad. Google desktop made my life easier; whenever I need a file and cannot remember its name I just type its first letter and Google desktop search bar search it for me. I love using this tool.

Google Finance

As a finance student, we did many projects that are related to the finance market. Google Finance helped me in searching for a specific company’s financial records easily. It also allowed me to find about their news, market, portfolio and its stock market. It was a very handy tool.

Google Alert

Google alert help me to be a loyal reader to my favorite websites. I used this tool to notify my through my email about the latest updated information our news in those website. I rarely read nowadays but whenever I have time I can simply go to my Gmail and find out more about these websitesJ

Google Reader

This tool allowed me to collect all the websites that I want to read from all in one place so it is easy for me to one this page and read through different updated news and items. I wish I had more time to read all the websites that I subscribed with.

Google News

Google news collects all news that you are interested in all in one page. In Google news you can also create your own section by adding different search term that you want Google to search for in that section. Whenever I had time, I logged to Google news and read through some news. It is a useful tool to news reader and it also saves their time.

iGoogle

iGoogle is a beatification of the Google homepage. It also allows you to add different gadgets that you are interested in same as Google desktop. In iGoogle you can create your own Google interface with whatever you want and feel it is convenient to you. I use iGoogle when I want an easy access to my Gmail or calendar.

Google Blogs

I used Google blog to record my weekly main events and reflect on some of my subjects or videos that I saw.

Blog Search

I didn’t use this tool very much only when I was searching for finance blog.

Google Docs

I used this tool to complete some of my group project and shared document such spreadsheets and power pints with my colleagues.

Google Earth

In Google earth I was able to geotag some places that I have visited with photos. I used 5 different places.

Google groups

I created my own group in Google group and posts some articles that are related to my studies and other interesting posts that I want to share it with my group.

Google labs

I chose two tools in Google lab, one is similar pictures and other is Google translation. I found both of them useful and easy to use. And I liked them very much.

Google Picasa and Picasaweb

In Google picasa and picasaweb I created an online album that I can share my picture with different people. Also, I changed and added some effect on different pictures. It is a very useful and easy to use tool.

Google scholar

In Google scholar you can search articles, books and other papers that we as student might needed for our studies like, I used Google scholar to search for a book on marketing mix one of our projects in my marketing for financial services course.

Google searching

There are various and easy ways to search for a particular thing. For example, when you want to search for a weather in one area just type weather along with the city name then I will directly give you the weather in that area.

Google Sites

I used Google site to demonstrate my daily usage of each Google tools through screen shoots. I created 20 pages in my site each page talks about each tool and how I used this tool.

Finally, each tool had different usage and each one of them help me in a way to complete my tasks easily with better outcome. Now I can say that I love Google and its great creations...,

We all play the role of consumer. I think this talk deals primarily with the "citizen" playing that particular role.


If he was talking about the "citizen" in another role, say, philanthropist then he might use that word. I don't think the intention here is to paint everyone as a one dimensional character, a "consumer," but citizen is far larger than just what we do when we purchase and consume.

DWC Annual Bazaar

This year bazaar was not as we expected. It missed its fun spirit. Also as I noticed there were a small number of booths than the previous year. There was music, food, noise, people, few visitors all the fun ingredients was there, but what was missing is the spirit as I call it “ bazaar spirit” I couldn't find it anywhere.

I had nothing to do as I did in previous year as I and my group ran our small business, but this year I am glad that Mr. Philip chose us to work in bazaar. I cannot imagine how I would spend the bazaar without having something to do on it. Although, I was busy and had no free time, I was happy that I am donning something for charity with no returns. I as I am a blue person I care for others and I love to help them, this job was designed for that purpose for those kinds of people as we all in FSRV are J

AL Eid Break

Yesterday I and my family went to Al Ain. We left Dubai at 12:00 pm, we were about 14 people divided into two cars. The journey took about one and a half hour. We reached Al Ain at 1:30 pm it was lunch time so we headed to the restaurant immediately.

We had our lunch it Al Dewan restaurant, it was delicious food and we all enjoyed it. Then we went to Al Balwady Mall for some shopping. After that we went to AL Mubazara so children can play and enjoy their time.

It was a great journey and I enjoyed it very much J

School Personal Finance Awareness Campaign

On Tuesday, 10^th of November 2009 we run the School Personal Finance Awareness Campaign as we welcomed 2 groups of students from 2 different schools, 27 students from Sukaina Bint Al Hussain Government School and 18 students from New World Private School.

First, we introduced the campaign to the students and its objectives. Then we started the actual presentation and involved the students to participate in it. Finally, after the presentation we asked them a question as an activity to make sure that they understood the campaign and we distributed giveaways to them to keep a print of the campaign on the students’ minds whenever they use their giveaways (Flash memory).

I thought this campaign was essential as we live in a spending based culture community who does not think about their future, so it was a great opportunity for us as a group to be able to do such a small thing that will have a great return to our society and to help the new generation build up themselves from young ages to manage their personal finance which will let them live in a stable financial environment.

Second of December

Is the date when seven emirates joined to become one emirate called” United Arab Emirates”.

On this day, all of UAE’s seven emirates will be colored with Red, Green, White, and Black UAE’s flag color.

On this day, we decided to celebrate the happy national day in Fujairah. All of UAE’s nationals and residents were celebrating the happy national day cheering and having fun on this historical day.

On this day, everyone is raising UAE’s flag up to the sky, wearing the national flag color dresses, decorating cars with flags and flowers to celebrate this great union. I hope for my country long lasting success forever.

Eid AL Adha

“Eid Mubarak “is what all the Muslims used to say to each other during Eid. It is a time for Muslims to celebrate the happy days of Eid. Families gathering together greeting each other, having lots of fun and the most important thing is thanking Allah for this great days.

This year’s Eid Al Adha was on Friday the 30^th of November. We used to get up early in Eid’s morning to pray Eid pray usually, men go to Eid’s prayer room and we as women stay at home. After that, we all congratulate wishing happy life to each other. Children ask for” Eideya“from elder people “I used to be one of them, but unfortunately I am no moreL”.

I did nothing special on this Eid, everything was as regular and I enjoyed itJ
